The Answer Is Found In Your Passion

Have you ever wondered how to increase your productivity or performance on a daily basis? Have you ever considered what drives your mood or attitude? Have you ever discovered the one thing that leads to your success and fulfillment? The answer lies in finding your passion in everything you do! Whether you are trying to increase personal success or motivate your employees to produce better results, the answer is always found in finding an individual's passion. When a person finds their passion in their personal or professional life, in essence, they have found their true joy in life.

Once a person's passion is identified, a cause soon follows. As with all passionate people of the past, action always pursues passion. People often believe that a person's job, leadership/manager role, parenting style, or relationship is a responsibility, but this should not be the case as this is where passions are born. Think of a time when you spoke with a person who was passionate about something. How do you remember feeling? 2 Do you remember feeling a certain energy that exuded out of this person? It is this energy that drives people to passionate individuals. Many people seek this energy or passion and wonder how to acquire it. When people find this passion, families, occupations, organizations, and communities are transformed. In my opinion, passion is the beginning of extraordinary leadership. Whether you are a parent, employee, friend, community volunteer, manager, or own a business, all success and fulfillment begins with passion.

Passion = Cause = Action = Leadership

A person becomes passionate by embracing their day-to-day events with 100% commitment and energy. I will guarantee you that you will always be more satisfied when you enter a visit, a meeting, a presentation, a trip to the grocery store, with 100% commitment and focus. We have become accustomed to govern our days on autopilot and live for the end of the week rather than thriving in life and living in the present. We drive to work functioning in a "tunnel vision" not realizing the beauty that surrounds us. Furthermore, we overlook opportunities to empower ourselves through conversations each and every day. Become a passionate driven individual and you will see an immediate change in your emotional state. When we are present in the moment and passionate about what we are presently doing, we exude powerful positive emotions. This may seem difficult to do, but like everything, it is a matter of practice and habit. As a result of living with passion, you will begin to see your productivity and performance increase exponentially.

Most people in society tend to focus on the negative rather than positive in most situations. This is why many people struggle with sustaining a specific change in behavior. For instance, I know many people who chose to join a gym. At first, they were experiencing success because they had enough willpower to get up, go to the gym, and get on with their day. However, willpower does not change behavior because it does not last. These people started to focus on the negative aspects of working out, such as concentrating on their aching muscles, or focusing on how tired they felt after work, or how early they had to get up in the morning to get to the gym (Negative), rather than focusing on the positive long-term effects, such as increased self-esteem and confidence, a personal sense of accomplishment, obtaining their ideal body weight, an increase in energy and vitality (Positive). We are conditioned to focus on the negatives because of our external world. Here's something you can do to help you live with passion on a daily basis.

One effective strategy that will help you to begin living with passion and increase your productivity and performance is to always focus on two or three positive aspects of every event or situation you encounter. For instance, if you have a meeting to prepare for, write down two or three positive benefits of doing it immediately. How will it make you feel if you complete this task? Always write your positive benefits on paper. When you write down your thoughts on paper, it becomes more real. This is where you will put your focus.

Only focus on these things and do not let the negative benefits penetrate your consciousness. Always focus on the positive benefits in each and every situation and you will begin to see a positive increase in your emotional state and passion for life. Do this for one month, and it will become a part of your everyday routine. I guarantee it!
